5-Star Reviews of Secret Sisters

I've been struggling to finish Book 2  (Trouble Blows West: A Ginnie West Adventure) and was starting to get discouraged when I found some reviews of  The Secret Sisters Club: A Ginnie West Adventure.

How cool is this?

http://kidsebookfinder.wordpress.com/2012/03/28/book-review-the-secret-sister-club-a-ginnie-west-adventure-by-monique-bucheger/

Plus the first official Amazon review from a good friend: (I wish Amazon let me know when these appear--I was pleasantly surprised--twice! Thanks guys!)

This review is from: The Secret Sisters Club: A Ginnie West Adventure (Kindle Edition)
It was my privilege to see a few chapters even before publication. This is a great story, and a great series, for kids. I read at first as a favor, but kept reading because the interactions between the characters was so much fun. And, I'm a pretty old guy!

My three daughters are grown. If they were still young, this is the kind of book I'd like to see them read. Very 'safe' for young people even though, at times, a riot to read.

This post is called a "Book Bomb". WHAT is a "Book Bomb"? A book bomb is when a large group of people order a certain book on a specific day on Amazon. This pushes the book's popularity up the Amazon ranks, which in turn gives the book more visibility to Amazon shoppers. That’s the goal today for CALLER ID

So feel free to pass this on to your friends and shout it out on FB, Twitter, etc. We’d like as many people as possible to benefit from these bonus gifts.

Come back and see me when my second book: Trouble Blows West: A Ginnie West Adventure is released in early April.

When 12 year-old Ginnie defended her brother against the biggest bully in 6th grade, she thought she was doing the right thing. But she couldn't be more wrong.  Not only is the bully mad at her, so is her twin. Things get even worse when she sees the bully’s dad drop him like a ragdoll and she realizes he's a boy in even bigger trouble. Ginnie decides to be his ally, even if he won’t let her be his friend.

Until then, please help Rachelle sell her new book and redeem a ton of great giveaways. Every one wins.:)

My book: The Secret Sisters Club: A Ginnie West Adventure is now available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. You'll be able to download it to to Kindle and Nook starting Friday, March 2, 2012.

If you don't have an e-reader, no problem! There are free apps on both sites to download the book to your computer or phone as well. :)

Here's my blurb:
Twelve-year-old BFF’s Ginnie and Tillie, want to be sisters. Tillie's divorced mom plus Ginnie's widowed dad could equal a lifetime of round-the-clock girl talk and slumber parties. Too bad Dad vowed to never marry again. Ginnie and Tillie form a secret club. They come up with the perfect mission to change his mind: ‘Operation Secret Sisters’.

Before long, Tillie seems happier about gaining a dad than a sister. Ginnie suspects Tillie has turned ‘Operation Secret Sisters’ into a scam called ‘Operation Steal My Dad.’  Things get more complicated when Ginnie stumbles across her real mom’s hidden journals. Ginnie can finally get to know the mother she doesn’t remember and Dad doesn’t talk about.

When Dad discovers she has the journals, he takes them away. Ginnie needs to figure out what the big mystery is before her relationship with her father and her best friend are ruined forever.

'Garbage Truck' Theory of Life

A friend recently shared with me the 'Garbage Truck' Theory of Life.

How do you deal with mean-spirited, unhappy people who think they they can feel bigger by making others feel small? Or perhaps they just don't realize their frustration and anger is bleeding onto the unsuspecting and the innocent.

The simple truth is that some people are like overflowing garbage trucks and can't figure out how to get rid of their trash in a dignified way.

So they toss it on unsuspecting people.

The trick is not to let it stick by following 4 easy steps:

1) Let it slide off.
2) Smile and wave.
3) Wish them well.
4) Move on.

There is power in being the bigger person. :)

It is not easy to apply in all situations, but you gotta admit when embraced properly--it does make for a less stressful life.
